We are performing a concert of gorgeous music by one of England’s greatest composers – Henry Purcell.
You will hear trumpets, oboes, recorders, bassoon, strings, - plus 8 professional singers (sopranos, counter-tenors, tenors and basses) in a range of stunning and tuneful arias that plunge the full range of emotions.
The works include ‘Come Ye Sons of Art’ and ‘Welcome to All the Pleasures’ (containing Purcell’s most famous counter-tenor solos and duets) as well as a rarity - the ‘Yorkshire Feast Song’ and a concluding Chaconne in which – true to our tradition - the audience will be invited to join in dancing.
There will also be wine and soft drinks available at the interval.
There is plenty of parking below the church.
