Bob Kenward - At Bodmin Folk Club

Bob Kenward

Date: Friday 8th July 2022
Time: 20:00

Bob Kenward

Bob writes and performs his own songs accompanying himself on guitar, mandolin and harmonica. A deep love of the countryside and of traditional music runs through his act.

He is a regular at a Faversham Folk Club and he is “proud of his association with the Club as without the support of the others he wouldn’t have written so many songs”.

Ken's songs such as Man of Kent, Sweet Pippin and Navy Days have become part of the local folk scenes in Sussex and Kent.

He ranges through love songs, social comment, good rousing choruses, songs about farming life, hops, apples, trains, cricket - and some very clever funny songs.

Bob has contributed to the EFDSS ‘Full English’ initiative, preparing songs for school use and wrote the Teachers’ Notes which accompany the education packs.

He has written two shows – ‘The Rise of Captain Swing’ and ‘The Singing Rail’ to be shown at Broadstairs Festival this year, where he also hosts the Woodshed Sessions; Both shows are a mixture of traditional songs and Bob’s work.

A performer of wide interests and talent, we look forward to his evening at Bodmin Folk Club.
