Capt. Murderer & the Morecambe Mermaid
Date: Saturday 21st April 2012
Time: 19:30
Captain Murderer and the Morecambe Mermaid is a pitch-black musical comedy, created by John Barber and Lisa Howard, aka Captain Mermaid Theatre Company, directed by Fiona Penney, with original songs by John Newman-Holden, and additional dialogue by Charles Dickens.
A sinister visual feast, with puppets and masks, illusions and projections, it tells two conjoined stories; of addiction, sexual exploitation, immigration and kiss-me-quick cheekiness, of Burlesque queens and Freak Show geeks.
It’s a fast-moving, funny and provocative entertainment.
It’s disturbing escapism, and you’ve never seen the like...
