Whether it is being used as backing music on the X Factor, employed by club DJs, used as music to advertise aftershave or even as a concert piece in its own right, Camina Burana remains the most popular twentieth century choral work.

Written in 1934 by Carl Orff, the piece is a setting of dramatic, powerful medieval poetry that extols the virtues of a life based on eating, drinking, gambling and love (luckily it is all in Latin and early German!)

With the vast combined forces of all Truro School’s Choirs, Truro Preparatory School Choir, Truro Choral Society, Truro Symphony Orchestra and  soloists, the only indoor venue large enough for this event is the Carn Brea Leisure Centre.

The concert will also include the World Premiere of a new Piano Concerto written and performed by our young Sixth Form keyboard virtuoso, Ben Comeau.
