Ecological Housebuilding

Two Films and Debate

Film 1. Eco Village Pioneers - A journey towards low impact living (50 mins).

Film maker Helen Iles, journeys in search of a sustainable, affordable way of life.

From a permaculture village in Australia, to a turf roofed roundhouse in Wales.

Eco Village Pioneers investigates some of the projects which inspired Lammas - the first legal low impact settlement in the U.K.

Film 2. Lammas - How to build an Eco-Village. (50 mins).

Share in the high and lows of nine families, as they build natural homes from straw, wood and mud.

Coax barren land to produce food, and learn to live inter-dependently with a new community.

In other countries in the world, they can build houses the way they want.

In this country, they all look the same. Little Boxes.

And what's more, they are not built ecologically, because they are built to make the builders a profit.

With 1 in 3 adults now living on their own, should we not now, be building places for people to live, not homes?

Eco-Villages with their own community gardens, community launderettes and community bakeries etc.......
