Lynn Goold & Helen Taylor
Twenty Years of the du Maurier Festival
In celebration of Daphne du Maurier’s life and her long-term hometown, Fowey, 1997 saw the launch of The Daphne du Maurier Festival of Arts and Literature.
Twenty years on, the Festival is an established annual event that continues to celebrate local, national and international writers.
Lynn Goold, a founder member of the Festival who ran the du Maurier Literary Centre, having established the Fowey Tourist Information Centre and Professor Helen Taylor, a du Maurier enthusiast and no stranger to the Festival, are among the few who can say they have attended every Festival since its launch.
Join them today for this illustrated talk as they reminisce anecdotally about the last two decades of writers and performers, guided walks and wedding boat trips, triumphs and tragedies, and windy marquees in the wildest of weather.
