Contemporary classical music ensemble Kevos, presents a programme of music full of relationships and remembering.
Alison Kay’s 'Spirit' is a gentle, wistful piece, full of fluttering charm, written in memory of her mother. Her new work, premiered in this concert, is its companion piece.
In contrast, Mark-Anthony Turnage’s Grazioso! is 10 minutes of rhythmic rock-out inspired by Led Zepplin while Brett Dean’s Sextet, Old Kings in Exile, is a taut drama, with repeating melodies and skitterish sounds endlessly circling, searching for what has past.
Castles In The Air is an impressive debut from 18 year-old Oren Velasquez Hirtenstein.
