Physical Postcards :
"A Moment's Notice"
A Physical Postcard is a short, danced, message. They can be funny, sad, moving or hilarious.
This chatty and playful dance performance brings messages to life in unexpected ways.
With dance choreography and in the moment improvisation, 'A Moment's Notice' is a great way in to experiencing dance.
During the performance, dancers Lois Taylor, Sarah Fairhall and Tommaso Giacopini will share postcards and messages from the landscape they live in.
In the run up to this event they will visit Calstock Primary School and share messages written by the children and the wider public through conversation and dance.
During the interval, the audience is invited to write their own postcards and pop them in the Tombola of Surprise. Audience members then pick out a postcard. The postcard's message is read out loud and the dancers immediately dance an improvised response.
Calstock Arts is delighted to be partnering Physical Postcards in the creation of "A Moment's Notice", a truly fresh and original approach to dance sponsored by Arts Council England.
Our support has enabled Lois and Sarah to share the first outings of this new work with you.
You’ll have the chance to meet them after the performance to find out about their creative process and to share your ideas for their Tour in 2019.
