Sir Karl & Lady Jenkins :

In conversation with the Rev. Philip de Grey-Warter

Knighted in 2015 for his contribution to music, Sir Karl Jenkins is the world’s most performed living composer.

His mass The Armed Man has been performed over 2,000 times with the CD in the ‘classical’ charts for 600 weeks.

His Adiemus topped record charts and his recorded output has resulted in 17 gold discs.

His music spans many genres (sacred and secular, jazz, advertising music, film soundtracks) and he is the highest placed living composer in the Classic FM Hall of Fame.

Karl’s wife Carol (Barratt) is an honorary member of the Royal College of Music and a specialist in music education.

She has also composed her own concert repertoire and, as a librettist, contributed to many of her husband’s works.

This evening you will hear some of Sir Karl’s music via CD and Dr Marlene Bowden will play piano preludes by Carol. Karl will be signing copies of his recent autobiography Still with the Music.

Wine and soft drinks available.

CD’s will be on sale.
