St Stythians Band
St Stythians Band was formed in 1928.
It soon achieved contest standard and regularly takes part in contests around the country.
It is perhaps most well known for its regular attendance on the Bandstand at the Gyllingdune Gardens, Falmouth for over 50 years, and for its all-day attendance at the famous Stithians Agricultural Show.
Expect to hear some well-known band classics and perhaps, a surprise or two from this award-winning group of musicians!
The Band is very friendly and is more like a family than some organisations.
In the past, fathers, mothers, sons, daughters and cousins of the same family have all learned to play and been members of the band, a tradition that is still continuing today.
The Band is very fortunate to have James Burns as its Musical Director (MD).
He was Principal Cornet for the Band until appointed as MD, a role he has held now for 10 years, and we hope you enjoy the lively programme he has chosen for you for their debut in the Park.
