Born on Tyneside and brought up in a pub on the famous Scotswood Road, Tom’s musical journey started in Newcastle’s thriving Irish scene and the North East folk clubs in the early 1970s.
Renowned for his musical accompaniments, Tom has played on hundreds of albums by artists including Barbara Dickson, Richard Thompson, Allan Taylor and Lindisfarne.
As happy in the intimate atmosphere of a small folk club as he is at the largest festivals, Tom is a class act!
'Tom is a great player, and a terrific singer. He also happens to be a number one bloke too!'; Dave Swarbrick.

Bodmin Folk Club
Bodmin Folk Club
In 1967, a small group of enthusiasts who met weekly to sing in the Masons Arms decided to start a club to attract traditional performers to Cornwall. The first recorded club night of the Bodmin Traditional Folk Club was on 31st May 1968 in an upper room at The Barley Sheaf.
Since then, the club has met almost every single Friday night, welcoming a range of singers, musicians and occasional dancers from Britain and beyond at both guest nights and open houses.
Our new home is upstairs at Bodmin Band & Social Club, with drinks at social club prices.
Find us there every Friday except Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and the August Bank Holiday weekend, when we’re at Cornwall Folk Festival.
