Woody Allen's 'Midnight in Paris'

Starring : Owen Wilson, Rachel McAdams and Kathy Bates

Director  : Woody Allen

Gil and Inez travel to Paris as a tag-along vacation on her parents’ business trip. Gil is a successful Hollywood writer but is struggling on his first novel.

He falls in love with the city and thinks they should move there after they get married, but Inez does not share his romantic notions of the city or the idea that the 1920s was the golden age.

When Inez goes off dancing with her friends, Gil takes a walk at midnight and discovers what could be the ultimate source of inspiration for writing.

Gil’s daily walks at midnight in Paris could take him closer to the heart of the city but further from the woman he’s about to marry.

Film Reviews :
Rotten Tomatoes – 93% - It may not boast the depth of his classic films, but the sweetly sentimental Midnight in Paris is funny and charming enough to satisfy Woody Allen fans.
The Daily Telegraph - Midnight in Paris is a breeze: a bauble, but a jolly one.

FLIC stands for Films Launceston In the Community and is a community cinema project based in Launceston Town Hall which has been running since 2011.

Since then, we’ve been thrilled to bring the magic of the movies back to our beautiful Cornish town on the first Friday of every month. Our undoubted highlights have been screening The King’s Speech, which was watched by well over three hundred people over two days and a packed to the rafters night of Warhorse.

We are also proud to have linked up with the town’s youth council to deliver family matinees of the kind that made Saturday afternoons such fun in the not-too-distant past.

With handmade ice-creams from local firm Gerry’s Originals and a fully licensed bar, we aim to provide a great evening out for our patrons which always includes an intermission.
