Jonathon X. Coudrille’s adrenalin-fuelled Dangerously Rough Guide strays romantically from the Prosaic Protected Purlieus of Publishing into the Doubly Dangerous Darkling Domains of Dating.

It is said that the British do not woo: they simply get drunk and fall on each other.

This year’s Book of the Improvised Interactive Opera will give audience members – as well as those of the cast and orchestra – the opportunity to revive the Romantic Pickup line in gloriously articulated Speech and Song. [

Penzance Literary Festival

The Fourth Penzance Literary Festival
runs from
Wednesday, July 17th
to
Sunday July 21st.

The hub of the Festival will be The Acorn Theatre, in the centre of Penzance, where many of the events will be held. Other venues nearby include The Morrab Library and Penlee Coach House.

This is probably the friendliest and most inclusive literary festival in the country. Come and meet a galaxy of prize-winning and up-and-coming authors, poets and playwrights, from West Cornwall and 'up-country' too.

The Standard Event price is about £2.00 per event, so it is a genuine community festival offering fascinating talks, lively discussions, stimulating workshops and entertaining performances.

A Concession price of about £1.00 per event is available for Under18s, Students and Benefits
