David Leesley: 'Return of the White Serpent'.

David Leesley’s talk is about his extraordinary experiences with a remote tribe on a small tropical island in the Pacific which, for him, also became a journey of self-discovery.

Through a series of bizarre synchronicities, he found himself in a situation where he was reunited with his spiritual twin, the Chief of a tribe whose legends tell of a reuniting of black and white “serpent twins” and describe a mythical link to the Isle of Man, David’s home.

With some remarkable photographs, David, a healer dowser, will describe sacred ceremonies, initiations, tests and trials, tribal warfare and marriage, in a harsh, beautiful and remote place.

His talk will be a unique account of an endangered way of life with all its joys and difficulties. David’s book, Return of the White Serpent (published by Penwith Press), was written in order to tell the world about this fast-disappearing way of life.    Shortly after giving his talk he will return once again to the tribe.

David's journey has been an extraordinary one.

One time First Footman to His Excellency the Governor of Victoria, Butler to His Excellency the Lieutenant Governor of The Isle of Man, Footman to HM the Queen during her Silver Jubilee Tour of Australia, he also trained as a Mortuary Attendant and Post-Mortem Assistant in the Department of Anatomical Pathology, Royal Melbourne Hospital, (specialising in opening the head for brain removal). He has also studied with indigenous tribes in remote areas of the world and is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society as well as a Fellow of the Royal Anthropological Institute.

Whilst on a trans-African expedition in 1976, David had an “out of body” experience at Nyiragongo Volcano, Zaire.  This led him to realise his future path as a healer. His training has included healing in various disciplines of complementary medicine, especially shamanism and dowsing, in both the UK and Australia.

David is now a healer and dowser, a registered tutor with the British Society of Dowsers and lives with his wife Maggie on the Isle of Man.
