Luke Thompson on E V Thompson
Luke Thompson’s father was the novelist E.V. Thompson, whose bestselling titles included Chase the Wind, The Music Makers, Cry Once Alone and The Stricken Land.
E.V. Thompson wrote almost 40 novels, as well as short stories and historical studies.
He received an MBE in 2012 and later that same year he died.
In this talk, Luke responds to the question he has heard as long as he can remember: ‘So, following in your father’s footsteps, are you?’
He will talk about his father, writing practice and his next book, which is in part a response to grief.
Luke is a writer, editor, small press publisher and lecturer.
His book of poetry, The Clearing, and his biography of Jack Clemo, Clay Phoenix, were both published in 2016.
His next book will be A Noctuary, a creative non-fiction work responding to death and the night.
