Matt Bryden: And why have you brought me children’s toys?
Reading and Reflections on Charles Causley
Matt Bryden has included Charles Causley’s poems in his own work with children for many years.
He runs the Somerset Young Poets competition, and has worked with the Arvon Foundation, The Poetry Society, The Orwell Youth Prize and the Betjeman Poetry Prize among others.
In terms of his own work, Matt is the author of Night Porter, which won the Templar Pamphlet prize in 2010, and of Boxing the Compass (Templar Poetry, 2013), a first collection.
Following a stay at Cyprus Well in March, Matt will reflect on Charles Causley’s sense of place and appeal to children, as well as reading from his own work.
