Mike O’Connor and Barbara Griggs
Mike and Barbara will perform specially written works celebrating Charles Causley and the settings of some of his poems.
Mike O’Connor, from St Ervan, plays violin and concertina.
He is a world-class storyteller, a folk musician with a deep knowledge of Cornish folklore and a musicologist specialising in Cornish material.
Mike was the architect of the very successful folk operas Cry of Tin , Unsung Heroes and Cornish Lads, and the prize winning Cornish sagas Tristan and Iseult and Return to Lyonesse.
Currently he works as music advisor for BBC’s Poldark.
Barbara Griggs, from Tresmeer, plays harp, viol and violin.
She is known for her sympathetic and subtle accompaniments and has worked in several Cornish ensembles.
She has been working with Mike for seven years and together they have taken Cornish culture all around the country.
