‘Charles Causley: Cornwall’s Native Poet’
Cornish filmmaker Jane Darke introduces her biopic about the life and work of Charles Causley with musical settings of his poems performed by Jim Causley.
We present an evening of film and live music to celebrate the life of the poet Charles Causley.
Not only will thefeature length film be introduced by the director, Jane Darke, Jim Causley, a distant relation of the poet, will also be present to sing some of his settings of Charles Causley’s poems to celebrate the life of the poet.
Jim is a well-known folk singer, songwriter and musician from Devon who specializes in the traditional songs and music of the West Country.
Jane is a painter, film maker and beachcomber.
Her Charles Causley film was first shown at the Sheffield Documentary Festival and subsequently on BBC 4.
