St Ives Tate Talk - Louise Connell
The story of the development of Tate St Ives, leading up to its current award-winning incarnation and how it actively connects with art, artists and communities.
The new Tate St Ives opened in October 2017.
The beautifully refurbished and extended gallery, looking out towards the Atlantic Ocean on Porthmeor Beach, is one of Cornwall’s outstanding cultural landmarks.
The redeveloped galleries provide a continuous suite of rooms in which Tate can now tell the story of modern art and St Ives through its collections.
These lead to the award-winning exhibition space, illuminated by natural light for exhibitions of international contemporary art.
In its new form the gallery connects the past with the present, providing dynamic conversations between local and global art practice.
