Roderick de Normann is a former soldier and MOD Civil Servant.
Now retired to central Cornwall, he has just had published his fourth book covering the Americans and D-Day 1944.
Always interested in the history of the Second World War, he has recently had his fourth book published by Turan/Tor Mark. ‘Operation OVERLORD – Cornwall and the Preparations for the DDay Landings’ covers the huge efforts that were required by the Americans and their British hosts to launch from Cornwall.
Roddy’s talk covers these preparations in Cornwall, primarily centered on Falmouth.
It is profusely illustrated with a series of American photos and maps, the majority of which have been seldom seen before.
