Date: Saturday 27th April 2019
Orpheus is an exciting Latin ensemble brought together by a mutual love of Brazilian music.
Their debut gig was at Teignmouth Jazz Festival in 2016 and it went down a storm and the band has since continued to play to sell out shows with
their infectious music.
With a unique line up featuring hammond organ instead of the more usual piano/bass combo, the group's live set is a potent mix of uplifting sambas and stunning bossa novas.
Ecuadorian/Swedish singer Annika brings authenticity to the performances by
singing the songs in their native written language of Portuguese.
The band features Annika Skoogh (vocals), Martin Jenkins (organ), Steve Dow (guitar), Jade Gall (flute/sax), Ben Waring (drums) and Colin Seddon (percussion).
The band members are all well respected musicians in their own right and together they produce an enthralling and captivating sound guaranteed to delight.
If you love Brazilian songs and rhythms, then don't miss this opportunity to see this unique band live!
''...Great gig, great band, everyone loved it!'' Organisers of Teignmouth Jazz Festival.
