The Kit Hillbillies
Following their very successful festival debut last year and back by popular demand: the Kit Hillbillies, playing rollicking bluegrass & good-time acoustic roots tunes.
Come listen, and dance the night away.
We aim to finish the festival in style!
Come and join us for a cabaret style setting at the St Mawes Memorial Hall.
Unlike last year, there ought to be space for a good time hoedown.
Old-timey, good-timey bluegrass.
With rousing vocal harmonies that smuggle in some comical local references.
Their music has been described as "the sound of Woody Guthrie chasing Earl Scruggs in a stolen hay lorry."
A simpler summary came from the Guardian journalist Tim Dowling, who often writes about music: "The Kit Hillbillies: Excellent. See them soon."
Instrumental tasting notes: Banjo, fiddle, mandolin, guitar, double bass.
Vigorous, expressive & unvarnished, with a crisp percussive finish.
Think Betty Stogs rather than Harvey's Bristol Cream.
