A welcome return to Calstock Arts for acclaimed classical guitarist Alison Smith, performing an exciting and appealing programme including transcribed works of Chopin, Debussy and George Shearing, alongside original works for the guitar by Tarrega, Mertz, Barrios and Lovelady.

Alison delights audiences with her fluid technique and expressive playing, performing throughout the UK and Europe, as well as live broadcasts for BBC Radio.  With two CDs already released, there are exciting plans for a new recording in the future.

Alison has taught guitar, coached chamber music and lectured on techniques of teaching at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.  She has now returned to live in Devon and is the classical guitar tutor for the BA (Hons) Music course at Plymouth University.
