Clark Tracey Quintet
Calstock Arts is delighted to announce that drummer, Clark Tracey, will be appearing at The Old Chapel on the closing night of the Calstock Jazz and Blues Festival.
Clark grew up in a jazz environment as the son of Stan Tracey, the UK's leading jazz pianist. He has over thirty years’ experience playing alongside some of the most important artists in British jazz, including Ronnie Scott and John Surman. Clark has received the "Best Drums" award at both the British Jazz Awards and Ronnie Scott Award.
Clark has put together a brand new quintet for The Old Chapel gig. It includes Henry Armburg Jennings, one of the most sought after trumpeters of his generation. His great technique and true passion for jazz has led many leading British jazz statesmen to include him in their line-up, including Stan Tracey and Peter King.
Rising stars Reuben James on piano, Adam King on double bass and alto saxophonist Chris Maddock complete a stunning line up.
"There is a calm authority about Clark Tracey's drumming …. while at the same the time generating tremendous power" The Guardian.
