Prinz Grizzley dug deep down in the rich grits of good ol´ country, folk and blues.
The more he dug, the more he returned, back home to rural feelings that bound him to his roots in western Austria.
Surrounded by rugged wild country, with God-loving, hardworking folk, whose simple living and gentle loving he finds an inspiration for songs that might have been written across the ocean, in another land, way down south.
Influenced yet filtered and fed from the ground he now stands; his music has found its way — based on inspirations and his life’s personal journeys.
An Alp at the foot of the mountains of Western Austria.
A Man sits in the tall grass in the shade of a tree to escape the midday heat.
His view goes over the herd of sheep he was hired to look after for the summer.
His motivation isn´t money, he is seeking an answer in this solitude and stripped down life.
Suddenly out of the blue, it hits his mind “Country Music”.
Immediately he starts to write down a few lines on a piece of paper he had his lunch wrapped in.
The words ring true, the melody is sweet and sad.
It feels more real than anything he had done or produced over the last ten years with his Indie-Rock Band that broke up a few months before.
Seems the answer slept in him, it was his passion for American music that he listened to when he was younger.
It seemed to have slipped into the back of his mind and only waited there to be woken again.
All it needed, was a closer look into the wild nature of his home to discover the passion again.
Now this man, Chris Comper alias Prinz Grizzley released his Debut Album “Come on in” on the 21st of August.
Americana influenced, yet filtered and fed from the ground he now stands on.
