An Evening of Classical Songs and Piano Music

Enjoy an evening of beautiful songs and piano music performed by Maria Heseltine and John Thomson, including songs by Schumann, Brahms, Fauré and Barber and solo piano music by Brahms, Chopin and Liszt.

Guest artist, poet John Copping will read the "The Tree's Tale", and the duo will perform John's song, "Given", based on one of the poems.

Maria and John not only love performing, but like to draw the audience in by saying something about the music they perform.

John Thomson studied the piano with Gordon Green at the Royal Academy of Music and later at the Liszt Academy in Budapest under Solymos Peter. Following a successful Purcell Rooms debut, John performed throughout Europe and broadcast on Radio 3.  Click here to see his website

Maria Heseltine studied vocal performance at the Trinity College of Music, gaining a postgraduate diploma and LTCL. Her beautiful voice and engaging musicianship has made her a popular performer and an inspiration for composers. Five Rosetti songs by Douglas Cook and Voices by Clive Parnell are available on itunes and Amazon.co.uk.

John Copping trained as an actor at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and lectured in English and Drama at the University of Calabria
