Film -  Future Shorts

Future Shorts is the largest short film network in the world, providing access to an incredibly rich and diverse programme of movies that you may never see in a mainstream cinema.

The short story of the film universe, these miniature gems, each one only a few minutes long, are highly crafted and extraordinarily creative film experiences that will stay with you for life.  Most have won awards at recent film festivals around the world.

The Autumn programme includes, “The Black Balloon” directed by Ben and Joshua Safdie
Winner of Sundance's Short Filmmaking Award 2012, the Safdie brothers bring a film intended for children, morphed into a sci-fi urban fable. Black Balloon explores New York and the complicated lives of individuals and their daily experiences from the heights of a stray balloon.

“A Brief History of John Baldessari” directed by Ariel Schulman and Henry Joost is a documentary which tells us everything we do and don't need to know about this American conceptual artist. Many know Baldessari as “the guy who puts dots on people’s faces.” But did you know that he is 6’7″ and that his wifi password is 123456789B?  An epic career is crammed into 5 and a half frenzied minutes.
