Avril Horner & Sue Zlosnik :
Daphne du Maurier and History
Daphne du Maurier’s ability to bring the past vividly to life has helped to make her one of the great writers of the twentieth century.
Her most famous fictional works carry the reader into a Cornwall of earlier times and, in spite of her reputation as a romantic novelist, harsher times.
Ranging across du Maurier’s fictional and biographical writings, Avril Horner and Sue Zlosnik, in conversation with Professor Helen Taylor, will explore her treatment of histories of family, place and literary tradition in Cornwall and beyond.
Avril Horner is Emeritus Professor of English at Kingston University; Sue Zlosnik is Emeritus Professor of English at Manchester Metropolitan University.
Sponsored by The Jamaica Inn.
