To accompany the autumn exhibitions ‘Outspoken’ and ‘Alternative Visions’ at Falmouth Art Gallery, Director Henrietta Boex will explore, through images and extracts, the ideas and stated aims behind the work of artists from Reynold’s Discourses on Art in the 18th century, via the ‘Realists’ and ‘Symbolists’ of the 19th century, the many reactionary manifestos of the 20th century to today’s ‘Guerilla Girls’ and ‘Stuckists’.
