'Bouncers' & 'Shakers'
80s classic Bouncers and the, later added, sister play Shakers (co-written with Jane Thornton) were originally penned to expose the dark underbelly of 80s night-life in Britain. This production has been revised for a more modern audience, without forgetting its working class, social context.
Through outrageous observations, colourful characters, and lively, emotional snapshots, explores the shadowy underbelly of Britain after dark, as seen through the eyes of four cocktail waitresses and the men on the club door.
Cue giggly girls, pogo-punks, Mr & Mrs Trendy and "lads on the razz" tittering at the thought of a ‘Long Slow Comfortable Screw’ as and offers a fascinating view of the reality behind the pulsating beats of the dance floor and the not-so-glitzy-glamour lurking beyond the plastic palms and Pina Coladas.
