'Murder at Upham Hall'
The story is set in the conservatory at Upham Hall in the 1920's.
Lord Upham is throwing a party to celebrate his discovery of an ancient Egyptian tomb containing a large amount of gold and valuable artefacts.
He has invited some VIPs, including Government Ministers, University Professors and the Press to view some of the artefacts that he has exhibited in the library and hopes to achieve recognition for this, the pinnacle of his work.
Also present are his wife, Lady Upham, Virginia, his secretary, Coward Harter, his archaelogical assistant, Coffin, the butler, Polly the maid and Inspector Nosiah Parker of the Yard – come to keep an eye on things from a security point of view.
Before the party starts, we meet all the protagonists and discover their stories and their relationship to Lord Upham and to each other. As the action unfolds, we discover that each of them has a secret(s).
Just as all the guests arrive, there is a scream as a body has been found in the library, with an ancient Egyptian dagger (from the tomb) plunged into its heart!
No more low profile for Insp. Parker – he, like the dagger, is plunged into the heart of this mystery.
Is he up to the task?
Judge for yourself!
