Wild Botanical Drawing

Spend the day capturing plants and flowers in season, as they grow around the stunning scenery of St.Ives.

During this day with Zoe Eaton, gain an introduction to the traditional Art of Botanicals - creating drawings and watercolour paintings, on plain white backgrounds.

Get different tips and approaches to studying the plant in depth and capturing its essence - but with the emphasis on developing your own artistic style.

During the morning, we will go out and sketch a whole variety of plants and flowers as they grow in beautiful locations around St.Ives - depending on the weather and season, we will visit the coastal path, and hidden gardens and parks.

Fill sketchbooks with drawings, colour notes, and explore different drawing materials.

In the afternoon we can develop our sketches into more fully formed art pieces, using watercolours and goache paints on quality paper surfaces.

This workshop is suitable for all ages and levels of ability, including complete beginners to drawing and painting.

All materials are included - but please bring suitable footwear and clothing for the weather (raincoat, sun hat, etc) and a packed lunch.
