Annie Liebovitz:
Life Through A Lens

Documentary directed by Barbara Liebovitz. (2006)

A fascinating look into the career of photographer Annie Liebovitz - from her family life, through her early years spent documenting bands and music for Rolling Stone magazine, to portraiture and fashion photography for the glossy magazines Vogue and Vanity Fair.

Filmed by her sister Barbara Liebovitz, the documentary offers plenty of ‘behind the scenes’ footage, a great selection of her best known images, plus interviews with a dizzying array of celebrities: Whoopi Goldberg, Rosanne Cash, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Yoko Ono ... and many more.

Annie’s own life has been private and protected, but this film follows her career over thirty years reflecting on the influence of her relationship with partner Susan Sontag.

This is a probing and insightful overview of one of the world’s most famous photographers and the working of her distinguished career.
