Dalla could be described as the first Supergroup in Cornish Celtic music
* Four of the foremost proponents of traditional Cornish music today.
* An unparallelled grounding in the traditions of Cornwall.
* Fearless innovation springing from these rock solid roots.
* Compelling dance rhythms.
* Some of the best tune and songwriting in the tradition.
The members of Dalla have been on a journey from the earliest sparks of the revival in Cornish Traditional Music to the exuberantly expanding universe of the scene today.
What their live show offers you now is a joyful, heartrending, life affirming show and tell of the treasures they have found on this journey. They invite you to share in the mischievous delight they take in playing with their tradition, and in their fascination with the world that lies behind the pieces
Their voices bring you
Sometimes joyous, sometimes heartrending two, three and four part harmonies.
Songs rooted in the Cornish worlds of mining, fishing and farming.
Songs of heartbreak, loving, laughing and dying.
Singing for dancing, singing for joy, singing for sheer pleasure.
Their instruments bring you
Some of the finest Celtic bouzouki/mandolin playing you're likely to hear.
Cornish clarinet dancing around the melodies and soaring above the tunes or stomping bass clarinet grooves rocking the foundations.
Gutsy shuffles and hypnotic grooves on the fiddle and viola.
Mesmerizing and driving percussion and ancient steps with modern twists from the scoot dancing.
Support from The Longest Johns
The Longest Johns are a Bristol based, a capella folk music band, born out of a mutual love of traditional folk songs and shanties. They rock maritime songs alongside the more unusual and less traditional folk tunes.
After becoming a five-man group in 2015, they've taken their harmonies to new heights, whilst always retaining just the right mix of quality and hilarity.
Whether performing songs that are hundreds of year old, or their own original creations,The Johns bring a new feel to audiences wherever they go.
