Date: Saturday 15th February 2020
Windborne Singers from the USA
Windborne specialise in close harmony singing, shifting effortlessly between dramatically different styles of music. Their musical knowledge spans many continents and cultures as well as being deeply rooted in American folk singing traditions.
The 4 singers who make up Windborne : Lynn Mahoney Rowan, Will Thomas Rowan, Lauren Breunig and Jeremy Carter-Gordon share a vibrant energy onstage – their connection to each other and to the music clearly evident.
They educate as they entertain, telling stories about the music and explaining the characteristics and stylistic elements of the traditions in which they sing.
During this full day workshop on Saturday 15th Feb, Windborne will teach songs from their American roots, songs of protest and freedom from their album ‘Song on the Times’ and folks songs from other cultures collected on their travels.
The workshop is open to everyone and all the songs and harmonies will be taught by ear.
On Sunday evening, Windborne will perform a full-length concert in the fine acoustic of Marazion Community Centre.
A combined Workshop & Concert ticket price is available. Just book both events in one order, Workshop & Concert, the prices will be discounted in your Shopping Cart.

Kana Kernow (Singing Cornwall)
Hosted by Pip Wright
Kana Kernow was set up in 2013 by local singing leaders Pip Wright and Claire Ingleheart to provide opportunities for people to come together to sing for enjoyment, to learn new songs and to experience new styles of singing.
We run workshops in the heart of our communities in village halls, leading some workshops ourselves as well as drawing on the rich wealth of local singing leaders.
A couple of times a year we invite excellent singing leaders from further afield to Cornwall so we can all experience exciting, good quality, diverse singing workshops locally.
