"Medusa The Celt"

Funny, scary and astonishing, Medusa The Celt is an extraordinary journey into the myth of the Gorgon, whose gaze turns all who look at her to stone.

This is big, powerful, action-storytelling in the great tradition of Cornish outdoor theatre, with haunting music and stunning costume.

This is a story about the true history of the Celts,told in the Celtic landscape.

It reveals an amazing secret about the people of Cornwall and this island, one that will change your view of the past, and also the present.

(To get to The Island, St Ives, it is best to park at the Island Car Park which fortunately is close by )

Writer-director Nick Whitby’s plays have been performed in over twenty major theatres internationally, including on Broadway, in Chicago, Berlin, Madrid, and Vienna and at the Donmar in London (directed by Oscar-winner Sam Mendes).

He has also written extensively for television, including for Channel 4’s Emmy award-winning Smack The Pony. In 2009 he co-wrote/directed The Charity Shop Cabaret with Trifle Gathering, that has since toured nationally and will be appearing at the Edinburgh Festival this Summer.
