'One Foot In The Rave'

Written and performed by Alexander Rhodes
+ Support Bilby Barclay

A disillusioned 23-year-old evangelist preacher finds himself ejected from a controlling cult and on to the ecstasy-fuelled dance floors of 90’s clubland. He is not prepared for what he finds.

Alexander Rhodes makes a welcome return to Penryn after headlining SproutSpoken at Newquay last year. His debut show, fresh from acclaim at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, is an energetic mix of Anger, Love, mind programming, self-realisation, Agony and total Ecstasy.

Set in the hedonistic world of nineties clubland. It tackles concepts of self, society and awareness with the right blend of humour, a dash of inspiration and moments of genuine despair.

Don't' miss this fantastic show - which is the only Cornwall date this year.

Alexander Rhodes is not real. He is just an idea. If you look hard enough you will find evidence of a previous incarnation as a DJ and producer of electronic music. A few house music mixes here, the odd chill out track there, echoing in the digital ether. Alexander’s poetry is inspired by the free thinking of the rave generation and heavily influenced by his breaking free from an oppressive religious cult.
