Ice Music - Terje Isungset
Date: Thursday 29th November 2012
Time: 20:00
(Please note change of venue from Eden to Grampound community hall.)
Norwegian percussionist Terje Isungset is a pioneer in the creation of instruments made out of Ice. Taking large blocks of ice from frozen lakes and glaciers in the heart of Norway, Terje carefully carves this ice into percussion and blown instruments that create beautiful, poetic sounds.
Terje may come from a jazz background but this music transcends genre; an atmospheric, timeless music that captures the wind howling across the mountain tops and the primal sound of the earth.
The evening will open with a short film The Idea of North created by video company Lumen and Terje Isungset.
After an interval, Terje will perfom a live set of Ice Music.
This show is presented in partnership with SoundUK.
