Verdi’s heart-breaking tale of love and tragedy, ‘La Traviata’ comes to the Princess Pavilion in a brand new production by Duchy Opera.
A thrilling cast of soloists, with chorus and orchestra, retell how Violetta, the fallen woman of the title, finds true love only to lose it.
This will be a fully staged and costumed traditional production with orchestral accompaniment, directed by Richard Jackson (director of our acclaimed 2014 production of "The Elixir of Love").

Since its debut production of Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro in 1977, Duchy Opera has built a reputation as one of the finest semi-professional, regional opera companies in the UK.
As well as their main opera productions, they perform in concert at venues all over Cornwall, from village halls to country houses, and make occasional journeys further afield, such as their trip to Cyprus in 2010, to perform in aid of the Army Benevolent Fund.
Educational work is central to the company’s activities, and ranges from regular Masterclasses with Internationally-recognised vocal coaches and singers, to their popular Primary School workshop visits with the Duchy Opera School Run.
