Starring soprano, Lucy Eaton as Morveren the Mermaid, with tenor, Ranald McCusker as Mathew Trewhella, bass, John Beazely as Llyr, the ruler of the sea, and alto, Susan Lancaster as Mathew's mother.
This Summer, Duchy Opera present a beautiful new opera composed by Paul Drayton with words by Keith Sparrow, based on the famous Cornish legend of the Mermaid of Zennor.

Duchy Opera

Since its debut production of Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro in 1977, Duchy Opera have built a reputation as one of the finest semi-professional, regional opera companies in the UK.
As well as their annual main opera productions, they perform in concert at venues all over Cornwall, from village halls to country houses, and make occasional journeys further afield, such as their recent trip to Cyprus in 2010, to perform in aid of the Army Benevolent Fund.
