Duchy Opera
Since its debut production of Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro in 1977, Duchy Opera have built a reputation as one of the finest semi-professional, regional opera companies in the UK.
As well as their annual main opera productions, they perform in concert at venues all over Cornwall, from village halls to country houses, and make occasional journeys further afield, such as their recent trip to Cyprus in 2010, to perform in aid of the Army Benevolent Fund.
Their educational work is central to the company’s existence, and ranges from regular Masterclasses with Internationally-renowned vocal coaches and singers, to their popular Primary School workshop visits with the Duchy Opera School Run.
