Rogue Theatre : 'Wild' - The Sunlight part of Rogue’s Spellbinding Summer Double-Bill

<B><I>Rogue Theatre : 'Wild'</I></B>

Date: Sunday 19th August 2018
Time: 14:30

Rogue Theatre presents 'Wild'

A tangling of well-loved tales
From the heart of the fairy tale forest.

Created by Cornwall’s award winning Rogue Theatre.
(What’s On Cornwall award winners for “Best Theatre Show” and “Best Theatre Company”)

( The Sunlight part of Rogue’s spellbinding Summer Double-Bill).

Leave the path.
Step into a fairy tale.
Those who stick to paths
Seldom have tales to tell.

Wild is an immersive theatre adventure into the most thrilling fairy-tale landscape; the forest, whose wildness calls to us all.

Lose yourself in the forest and find yourself in the world of wolves and those who have strayed;
Lost wanderers call it “Wilderness”,
Beasts call it “Home”,
Witches; “Wonderful”,
We call it “Wild” and you are welcome here.

Wild is a fast paced, funny, mischievous and spellbinding show in the heart of the woods mixing some of Rogue’s favourite fairy tales including: Red Riding Hood, Hansel and Gretel, Beauty and The Beast and Sleeping Beauty.

This immersive theatre adventure starts with an enthralling journey along the wandering paths of Cornwall’s breathtakingly beautiful Tehidy Woods North Cliffs.
Journey through the trees where chance meetings with wolves, witches, faeries, princesses and fairy tale creatures will weave you into the magic of the Wild world.

The paths follow the scent of wood smoke and twist together in a clearing, where we shall gather in the grand theatre of trees.

Here our tale comes to life.

Wild is an eye popping, heart pumping, spirit raising, laughter making feast for the senses and is designed for Wild minds and those whose imaginations like to wander.

The show part of the event is shorter than our usual shows (about an hour) giving us more time for a party at the end where you can stay for free face painting, woodland craft making, woodland vegetable stew (served from the cauldron), Rogue’s refreshment and bar tent, and of course wild music so you can dance on the stage with the Beauties, Beasts, Fairies, Witches and Wolves of the Wild world.

Let there be Wild dancing!

Written by Ollie Oakenshield and Directed by Angelina Boscarelli, Wild is;

Perfect for imaginations of all ages, wolves, witches, woodcutters, adventurous families, wide eyed children and grandmothers.

Fairy Tale costumes, fancy dress, otherworld outfits, party frocks, wild life masks, funny hats, forest finery, frippery, feathers and fancy hairdos are encouraged though not essential. (Grown-ups as well as children)

All are welcome, from near or far!

Follow the smoke to the wild heart of Cornwall and find the bright and enthralling flames of Rogue’s Wild Theatre.

A glimpse of Rogue Theatre's previous Summer Ball

The experience –

The bar is open, the stew is served, there is free face painting, woodland wand and craft making, and of course dancing, did we mention the dancing?

Dance on the stage with the Rogues and the Wild creatures.

Reasonably priced hot refreshments, cold drinks, beer, wine and cider (and Rogue’s epic Woodland Vegetable Stew) will be available to buy.

Toilets are situated near the performance area.

For your woodland adventure we recommend you bring a blanket, a warm and waterproof coat, shoes for adventure (wellies if it has been raining).

There will be hay bales to sit on (and a few chairs for those who need them), though feel free to bring cushions or fold out chairs (if you don’t mind carrying them).

The event lasts about 2 ½ hours and takes place in the woodland so come prepared whatever the weather. (We will use our fabulous canopy to cover the audience if it should rain)!

The path twists and turns and is bumpy under foot but should be fine for a rugged buggy!
