King Arthur, The Wild Hunt - Rogue Theatre :

King Arthur, The Wild Hunt

Date: Saturday 1st September 2012
Time: 20:00

King Arthur, The Wild Hunt.

Re-igniting the glowing embers of The Dancer and The Devil in The Woods and Winter Wood (Top 10 Christmas Walks in The Guardian 2011) Rogue strikes again with an immersive and thrilling theatre adventure in Tehidy Woods.

Playing in the fading light of the woods at dusk King Arthur, The Wild Hunt will lead the audience through the trees of Tehidy Woods on a path that journeys from the rugged North Cliffs of Cornwall deep into a world of myth.

Rogue Theatre (nationally acclaimed for their exiting visual style) brings new blood to this ancient tale and retells the story of our great Celtic Hero, illuminating the myth with the lights of our own time.

With fire in its belly this tale of passion will bring to life the heart of the woods at night revealing a story of magic, love and betrayal, of fierce warriors, humanity’s greatness and how just one kiss can change the future.

Following the success of Winter Wood and The Dancer and The Devil in The Woods, King Arthur The Wild Hunt promises to be an experience for all the senses, an immersive theatre event that smells of wood smoke and earth and tastes of adventure.

Enter the woods, a playground of magic, home of Merlin the Mad and shadowy backdrop for a blazing tale.

Created by Rogue Theatre and written by Anna Maria Murphy (Kneehigh: Tristan and Ysuelt, Red Shoes, BBC Radio 4, National Theatre) the show will mix spectacle, powerful narrative, dance, theatre and live music.

Listen carefully to the echoes of the myth; they have much more to tell!

“It was theatre at its most enchanting… a complete sensual delight…it deserves to be shared on a global scale.” Jackie Butler- Western Morning News - (Dancer and The Devil in the Woods 2011)
