Charlestown Regatta Week raises funds to benefit the residents of and visitors to the village of Charlestown, including the provision and maintenance of the children's equipment in the Regatta Playing Field, a Christmas lunch for the Over60s, donations to local charities and good causes as well as the Annual Carols Evening.
Current plans are for the partial levelling of the Regatta Field which will enable the provision of a much enhanced children's play area with good disabled access and for a Victorian-style bandstand to be built which will be in keeping with the Unesco World Heritage status of the village.
The upgrades to the Regatta Field entrances, started in 2012, are nearly finished with new Cornish granite gate posts and traditional black steel gates. We will be announcing a ceremonial opening soon. Work continues on upgrading the field.
